A Big Day In Junior in Melbourne’s East

Malvern Valley Primary School in Melbourne’s East hosted a great Big Day In Junior on Wednesday August  28.

Big Day In Junior events are hands-on STEM focused events for Year 5 and 6 students organised by the Australian Computer Society Foundation. A number of representatives from companies such as Apple, Google, Origin Energy and of course Adobe dedicated the day to provide opportunities for students from a range of primary schools.

The schools that I worked with included:

  • Glen Huntley Primary School
  • Lloyd Street Primary School
  • Caulfield Junior College
  • Coatesville Primary School
  • East Bentleigh Primary School
  • Malvern Valley Primary School &
  • Korowa Anglican Girls School

The aim of the Adobe session was to develop digital video literacy skills with Adobe Spark Video. Following a demo of how simple Spark Video is as a tool to make a quality  video production, the students were encouraged to partner up and work  with an iPad to produce a video about  their passions.

It was a great pleasure to work with these students and see the creative video work they achieved.
