Not many people realise that the official AFL Brownlow Medal Breakfast has been organised as a Strathcona fundraiser for the past 20 years.

This year’s was the third one that I have been involved with, this time as the multimedia director.

Terry Wallace (past coach of Richmond and Western Bulldogs) was the MC this year and he did a great job. Mike Brady entertained us with his famous songs Up There Cazaly and One Day in September. Ian Robson (CEO of the Bombers) was the guest speaker and other AFL personalities and journaists like David Parker, Peter Knights and John Anderson all took part in interviews and a panel presentation.

After the event I had the great privilege of holding the 2010 AFL Grand Final Cup. I was just keeping it warm for Saint Nick Riewoldt and his team on Saturday.
